Dan Brown has written some really good novels. The latest one, The Lost Symbol, is a great read, as is the Da Vinci Code. He's written others, but I've not had the time to read them ... yet!   Visit Dan Brown's Page for more.

I've enjoyed James Rollins as well. Somewhat along the same lines. He's got quite a few novels in print.

And Louis L'Amour! His novels reflect excellent storytelling usually in the 1800s out West. His stories always show good prevailing over evil. Comfortable, enjoyable reading. He has dozens of books, and I've read most of them.
